Aging, as some experts say, is a main factor which influences a man’s sexual function that declines with age. With age the testosterone level decreases and  the man needs more efforts to arouse himself. When sexually aroused an older man gets an erection achieves orgasm more slowly. It takes him longer to have following orgasm, to become aroused again.

With age semen volume and sperm quality decline significantly.  ED is associated with advancing years. The studies show that between the ages of 40 and 65, the percentage of potent men falls from 60% to 30%.

With age males also experience problems with urinary function. Studies prove that a man’s urine stream weakens over time, the consequence of weakened bladder muscles and prostrate disorder.

But men fear the other problem: the penis changes in size, appearance, and sexual function with age. The penis undergoes significant changes in the age of 30 for most men, into middle age and in the 65-70. These changes are as following:

The head of the penis gradually loses its purplish color as a result of lessened blood flow. And there is a slow loss of pubic hair due to the low levels of testosterone.

Penis Size can change especially in those men who with age gain weight. As fat is mostly on the lower abdomen, the size of the penis changes. A large fat pad makes the penile shaft look shorter.

Male’s penis tends to undergo an actual and irreversible reduction in size with age. The penis reduction happens in length and thickness and men notice this change with fear and anxiety.

The penis shrinks due to the slow deposition of fatty substances inside tiny arteries in the penis, which impairs blood flow to the organ (atherosclerosis).

The other explanation why the penis shrinks is the gradual buildup of inelastic collagen within the stretchy fibrous sheath that surrounds the erection chambers. Normal erections occur when these chambers fill with blood. Blockages within the penile arteries mean smaller or no erections.

Lots of studies have confirmed that the penis becomes less sensitive over time. This can make it hard to achieve an erection and to have an orgasm.

All in all sexual activity for young or older men is associated with good physical and mental health. Sexual activity promotes good health and good health means sexual activity even for men in their 65-70.
